Artist Statement

This piece is about the pursuit of dreams and the great power to be discovered in self when we all let go of our egos.

The book is a symbol of learning and knowledge. It’s also a reference to the building’s rich history of being a library. Books allow us to educate ourselves but also unlock the true freedom in our minds.

Just as no two clouds are alike, each person brings with them their own individuality. Clouds = Freedom. We can not control clouds, yet Clouds can also be peaceful and serene or chaotic and destructive. Clouds = God.

About the Art

As a child and adolescent Christopher Parsons would often journey to the library with his family and escape into books. These experiences helped cultivate his imagination and build a strong foundation in dreaming.
