About the Art

This design started as a watercolor on paper triptych titled ‘Fuse.’ It was inspired by a previous triptych painting titled ‘Disperse,’ a piece in which I was focusing on the division of energy and what that might look like on a two dimensional surface. My intent was to counter that with an exchange of energy and this became ‘Fuse.’

This painting uses both color and shapes to capture and symbolize an active encounter of two energies. The color teal holds significance in a few forms, but the one I relate to is the same view of the Tibetan monks. To them and me, teal symbolizes infinity. If I believe that, then I also believe in the infinite potential of our connective energy. Making or the act of connection is the same as radical love. Circles represent totality and wholeness. In an abstract world, we are bubbles of potential floating along in the pool of infinite possibility and the act of making connections is the way we will move forward as a collective conscious.
